Abstract

I was recently asked to participate as moderator of a panel presentation titled The Role of Vertebral Subluxation in Chiropractic. The presentation was part of the World Federation of Chiropractic Conference, held in Auckland New Zealand.

Initially, I was somewhat confused by the title of the session, as my chiropractic education was based on the premise that chiropractors were trained to analyze, locate, and correct vertebral subluxation. Like many of my chiropractic colleagues, it seems to me that correction of vertebral subluxation is the role of chiropractic. In fact, this theme was well articulated by the panelists. As moderator I enjoyed listening to the information pertaining to vertebral subluxation and the insight that was provided through the expertise of the presenters who were either researchers, practitioners, or chiropractic educators.
